This easy-to-use tracking feature leverages the power and reach of Google Analytics and the flexibility of GetResponse tools to give you a complete "web-wide" picture of subscriber's actions within the context of your email communications.
In other words, it tracks and reports on each visitor's activity relative to specific campaigns, as opposed to your web traffic in general.
It's a powerful combination! Now you can cross-reference your GetResponse Email Analytics data, like open and click-through-rates, against your subscriber's online activities, such as navigation, high-traffic pages, number of "hops",
time to purchase, purchase "paths" and much more. For example, you can:
Track the page views of subscribers that clicked-through your email message. Where did they go next? Where did they finally stop to sign up or buy?
See how many subscribers left your site after reviewing the information on your landing page, indicating the level
of "stickiness" or relevance of your benefits and offers.Find out which links in your message are clicked on the most often so you can maximize them.
Analyze how many subscribers were drawn away from your initial offer through other information on your site that had a greater importance to them. That could be your next campaign!
Find out how many subscribers reviewed the product information but decided not to make a purchase at that time.
If the numbers are high, you may need to make changes to that section. How many subscribers returned to your site and how many times? You need to capture them!
Learn what pages they viewed on each visit; use it to personalize your messages to them.
Measure how many visits over how long it takes before your subscribers take the desired action.
How to integrate GetResponse with Google Analytics
If you are currently using Google Analytics on your site, you now have the ability to enable Google Analytic tracking links automatically in your GetResponse email campaigns. If you do not have analytics in place or would like to use Google Analytics with your existing system, it is freely available to all site owners.
You can get more information and sign up for a free account at http://www.google.com/ analytics
Getting started with GetResponse and Google Analytics
If you already have analytics working on your website (and most of you do!), then linking your GetResponse email campaigns to your current analytics account is very straightforward.
To get started, go to Campaign ›› Settings ›› Message Settings and enable the "Add Google Analytics tracking" option.
From that click onward, every link in every message and campaign that you send will be automatically modified to contain Google tracking code. In other words, it will be trackable.

What if you want to disable Google tracking for one particular message? You can do this very easily at the Create Message level by disabling the "Add Google Analytics tracking" option under the WYWIG Editor. If you do this, your message will not be monitored and integrated with Google Analytics.

Reviewing Google Analytics tags for your campaign
After you login to your Google Analytics account, you can find your email campaign results by clicking on "Traffic Sources" in the navigation bar on the left, then clicking "Campaigns". This will display a list of all the campaigns you have tagged for Google Analytics to track. The campaign names that you see on the list are the campaign names used in your GetResponse account.
When reviewing many or most of the reports in your Web Analytics dashboard, you can segment traffic quite easily based on several characteristics. First look for the "Segment" drop-down box. You''ll see a long list of options to choose from, including "Source", "Medium", and "Content". These correspond to the values you set for your links in your email campaign, so you can track the source of the traffic, which email campaign it''s coming from, all the way down to which particular message is generating the traffic.
What do the options mean?
Remember that GetResponse automatically takes the campaign name and make it the Google Analytics utm source.
Each link that goes to the domains you specified will be tagged, and will end up looking like this:
http://www.getresponse.pl/features&utm_source=getresponse& utm_medium=email&utm_content=how to get started? Need more flexibility in how you use Google Analytics?
If you want to use special tracking systems in your email messages, (i.e. to track an individual message as a campaign name in Google Analytics), you can generate your own links with your own unique parameters. But please remember that all "Add Google Analytics tracking" options in your GetResponse account have to be enabled. Here's how to customize your tracking system:
- Open the Google Analytics URL Builder.
- In a new window or tab in your web browser, open a message in your GetResponse account.
- Generate links with tracking codes following the steps provided at URL Builder.
- Replace the original URL link in your message with the custom-generated one.
- You''ll want to repeat this for each link in the message you''re working on, as well as any follow- up messages you''d like to track using Web Analytics and likewise for every future broadcast message you send.
